Surplus Property Transfers & Acquisitions

State surplus property is available for transfer to any other state agency for up to 7 days after the property is declared surplus by another agency.

To view and request state surplus property:

1. Your agency must first be registered to use the OGS online State Surplus Property Availability List. To register download and complete the State Surplus Property Web User Registration and Agreement (CS-217).
2. Log onto the online State Surplus Property Availability List to view and request a transfer of available state surplus property.

Municipal governments in New York State may purchase state surplus property at a fair market value up to 7 days before it is offered for public sale. 

To view and request state surplus property:

1. Register for the online State Surplus Property Availability List. Fill out and return the State Surplus Property Web User Registration and Agreement (CS-217.1).
2. Log onto the online State Surplus Property Availability List to view and purchase available state surplus property.
