OGS Surplus Garage

The OGS Surplus Garage is an appointment-only, open-market perpetual garage sale designed to reduce asset waste by giving surplus items a second life. Rather than going through the complete surplus cycle without a sale, assets will be displayed for immediate purchase at fair market value—no bidding, no waiting. If you see something you want, you can buy it on the spot and take it with you the same day.

How it Works

1. Make an Appointment (opens May 1)
   Available days and times: Weekdays (excluding NYS holidays), 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

3. Browse Available Surplus Items
   Items (or lots) will be clearly labeled with fixed, fair market prices.
4. Pay On-Site
   Credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are accepted. Debit cards are not accepted.
5. Same-Day Removal
   Buyers must remove purchased items the same day.

PAYMENT: FULL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE AT THE TIME OF SALE.

SALES: ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

NO refunds. NO returns. NO exchanges.

1. Pricing is non-negotiable. NYS Office of General Services staff will not entertain offers below the listed price.
2. The only accepted methods of payment are credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.  No cash.
3. The OGS Representative has the right to suspend or terminate buying privileges from customers immediately due to the following actions:  intimidating language or verbal threats, physical altercations, intentionally altering the condition of auction items for the purpose of suppressing the sale price, collusion with the intent to restrict competition, stealing or destruction of property.
4. All goods are being sold on an “as is” and “where is” basis with no guarantee expressed or implied by the State of New York. Buyers are encouraged to inspect all items before purchasing.
5. Full payment must be made prior to items being removed from the building.  A bill of sale will be furnished once payment has been made. Failure to remove items by close of business will result in forfeiture of item with no refund to the buyer issued.
6. All buyers must be 18 years of age, or older.
7. Sales Tax will be charged and collected on all purchases, unless New York State is given acceptable proof of exemption at the time of sale.
8. Loading services are not provided by OGS.  The buyer is responsible for the loading and removal of purchased items and assumes all risk incidental to such loading and removal. The winning buyer is responsible for any damage and/or personal injury caused by removal of items.  This includes the obligation to repair and restore any damage to the property to the satisfaction of the facility representative. The use/ reuse of any New York State seals or insignias is strictly prohibited. By making a purchase, you acknowledge acceptance of these terms and conditions.
9. All purchases shall be arrived at independently without collusion, consultation, intimidation, communication, or agreement, for the purpose of restricting competition, with any other potential bidder.
10. NOTICE: It is expected that all buyers shall responsibly use this personal property including its disposition in conformance with applicable laws, rules, and environmentally preferred practices.
