New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced that The Pop 2000 Tour will be headlining this year’s New York State Fourth of July Celebration Presented by Market 32/Price Chopper at the Empire State Plaza in downtown Albany.

“OGS is proud to again host New York State’s annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Empire State Plaza with the support of our generous and longtime sponsor, Market 32/Price Chopper,” Commissioner Moy said. “Mark your calendars and join us for a fun-filled evening at the Plaza that always ends with a fantastic fireworks display.”

Market 32 and Price Chopper President Blaine Bringhurst said, “Market 32 and Price Chopper are excited to light up the sky once again as the presenting sponsor of New York State’s Fourth of July Celebration. It’s an incredible event that brings people together to celebrate our country and our shared community spirit. We love being part of the fun and are honored to have helped make this tradition something to look forward to year after year, since it began in 1976.”

The Pop 2000 Tour features Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, and LFO. In the 2000s, these musicians made many of the hits that played on MTV’s afternoon countdown show, Total Request Live.

Chris Kirkpatrick is an American singer, dancer, actor, and voice actor best known for his work as a founding member of the pop group *NSYNC. As a voice actor, he has worked on numerous kids' shows, including voicing the character of Chip Skylark on “The Fairly Oddparents.” In 2022, he competed in Season 3 of “Celebrity Big Brother” and “The Masked Singer.”

O-Town’s story began in 1999, when TV show “Making the Band” chronicled the group's rise to success throughout three seasons on ABC and MTV. The group’s first two full-length albums included #1 singles “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing” and the Top 40 hit “We Fit Together.”

Ryan Cabrera is the singer and songwriter behind smash hits such as “On the Way Down,” “True,” and “Shine On,” as well as albums, including 2004’s Take It All Away, which hit #8 on the Billboard Top 200. Ryan was also featured heavily on MTV’s “Ashlee Simpson Show” and “The Hills.”

LFO burst onto the scene in 1999 with the #1 smash hit "Summer Girls," followed by another top-five hit in "Girl on TV" and the top-ten hit “Every Other Time." Today, the lone surviving member, Brad Fischetti, keeps the name of LFO alive, performing their songs to fans, new and old.

Since the country’s bicentennial in 1976, OGS has partnered with Market 32/Price Chopper to put on an Independence Day event that has traditionally drawn tens of thousands of people to the Empire State Plaza. The event features an exciting program for the whole family filled with incredible live music, great food and beverages, activities for children, and the best fireworks display in the region.

Sponsors include Market 32/Price Chopper, Coca-Cola Northeast, I LOVE NY, CDTA, Miller Lite, 99.5 The River, Renaissance Albany Hotel, and B95.5 FM.
