Kids Day Presented by MVP Health Care to Feature the Beat Bugs

Kids Day Presented by MVP Health Care to Feature the Beat Bugs
Free Family Event Saturday, July 13 at the Empire State Plaza

New York State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn M. Destito today announced children and their families are invited to attend Kids Day presented by MVP Health Care where they will be entertained by The Beat Bugs, featuring songs made famous by The Beatles. This free, kid-centric, outdoor event will be held at the Empire State Plaza from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 13.

“Kids Day is a special event at the Empire State Plaza when thousands of children’s faces light up at seeing all the fun things there are to do, and I know singing along with The Beat Bugs will certainly delight everyone who attends,” Commissioner Destito said. “We are very pleased to partner with MVP Health Care to present this wonderful event and grateful to all of the generous sponsors for their support.”

“Albany’s Kids Day provides families across the Capital Region with an opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy fun activities, and celebrate this vibrant community,” said MVP Health Care’s President, Christopher Del Vecchio. “This annual event is a favorite for children and families throughout the region, filling the Empire State Plaza with activities that focus on fun and good health. MVP will be on the plaza throughout the day with games and giveaways that kids of all ages will be sure to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you there!”

This year’s event will include opportunities to meet and sing along with Jay, Crick and Kumi of The Beat Bugs, the Emmy Award winning series now on Netflix. The Beat Bugs are charming, funny, adventurous, and have a knack for getting themselves into mischief and mayhem. Just like in the series, the live performance weaves iconic songs made famous by The Beatles into the narrative.

Kids Day will also feature:

  • Performances by the Troy Music Academy
  • Activity area by the Albany Ninja Lab
  • Pirate magic shows featuring Kaptain Kraw
  • Train rides around the Plaza on the Roaming Railroad.
  • Watkins Glen Race Car Display
  • Touch a Truck presented by CDTA - check out a Zamboni, a mini excavator, a street sweeper, and more.
  • Amazing animals, including hopping kangaroos, flying lemurs, and a tortoise at the Two by Two Zoo.
  • Food vendors to satisfy everyone’s tastes.
