The Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Act, signed into law by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on May 12, 2014, encourages the use of NYS certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses in New York State contracting. Companies holding current and/or anticipated future State contracts are encouraged to visit the OGS Division Of Service-Disabled Veterans' Business Development website at http://www.ogs.ny.gov/Core/SDVOBA.asp to review the list of NYS certified SDVOB’s (http://www.ogs.ny.gov/Core/docs/CertifiedNYS_SDVOB.pdf). Contractors should consider utilizing SDVOB’s when appropriate in fulfilling contractual obligations, including adding them as resellers if contractually allowed.
Businesses that are interested in pursuing SDVOB certification should submit a certification application (http://www.ogs.ny.gov/Core/Docs/SDVOBCertificationApplication.pdf) and review the “Frequently Asked Questions” located at http://www.ogs.ny.gov/Core/SDVAppFAQ.asp.
