Effective December 1, 2012, under the authority designated by the New York State Commission for the Blind and Visually Handicapped (CBVH), the administration of the New York State Preferred Source Program for people who are blind transitioned to National Industries for the Blind (NIB). NIB brings nearly 75 years of experience in successfully managing a similar, nationwide purchasing program for the federal government.

The catalog will continue to describe products required by law to be purchased under the New York State Preferred Source Program. Please continue to use the same ordering process, and phone numbers you normally use to order products. The Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and NIB are committed to a seamless transition, and will keep you informed throughout the process.
