International Translation Day

Since 2017, the world recognizes International Translation Day annually to highlight the invaluable contributions of translators and interpreters. These language professionals make meaningful communication and mutual understanding possible among people with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. As we celebrate our second anniversary, the New York State Office of Language Access uplifts the expertise and professionalism of language professionals, who make language access possible.

As a New Yorker, you have the right to access state programs, benefits, and services, no matter what language you speak. You can receive free interpretation services and have important documents translated into many languages, when requesting state benefits or services. To learn more about your language access rights in New York State, download the Your Language Access Rights in New York State brochure, available in 26 languages, browse our language access resources, or view our translation best practices.
