Covered Products
This specification covers reams and cases of white copy and multi-purpose paper with a standard weight (20 lb.) in the following sizes:
- Letter size (8.5” X 11”)
- Legal size (8.5” X 14”)
- Ledger size (11” X 17”)
- Letter size with three-hold punch
Exclusions
- Colored copy paper; see GreenNY Specification: Office Paper Products
- Heavier weight white copy or multi-use office paper (above 20 lb.)
- Stationery paper
Minimum Requirements
Products MUST have the following sustainability attribute:
- 100% post-consumer recycled content (PCRC)
Additional Desirable Attributes
Products are ENCOURAGED to have one or more of the following sustainability attributes:
- Processed chlorine-free (PCF)
- At least one of the following certifications:
- Made in the USA
- Made by a Certified B Corp

Many products meeting this GreenNY Specification align with the following NYS Sustainability Policies:

Definitions
- Process Chlorine Free – Refers to products (e.g., recycled paper) that have not been bleached with chlorine or chlorine derivatives.
