Director for Intergovernmental & Community Affairs
Emily Van De Loo serves as Director for Intergovernmental and Community Affairs at the Office of General Services, where she supports the agency's external engagement strategy and serves as a liaison to elected officials, government partners, and community stakeholders. In her role, Emily works closely with internal agency divisions and executive leadership to coordinate public-facing initiatives, support strategic planning, and enhance engagement in alignment with the agency's mission.
Prior to joining OGS, Emily worked on the government relations team at the State University of New York (SUNY), where she analyzed legislation, drafted policy memos, and coordinated advocacy efforts across the SUNY system, including outreach and engagement with state and local officials. She also spent several years as an analyst at the New York State Assembly. There, Emily served as the primary staffer for the Small Business Committee before transitioning to the Governmental Operations Committee, where she supported the committee chair by facilitating committee meetings and public hearings and providing policy analysis on the wide range of issues under the committee's purview, including procurement, building code, Open Meetings Law, and Human Rights Law.
Emily holds a B.A. in Psychology from McGill University and an M.A. in Political Science from Stony Brook University.
