Air Intake Plumbing & Concrete Repairs; C, E, P

Platform of the Empire State Plaza with Egg and roadway tunnels.

  • Estimated Cost: $1M - $2M
  • Scope: Mitigate the presence of standing water in the main fresh air intake structure that services the ESP HVAC systems located in the MER level of the Empire State Plaza. Civil/Site work will include the removal and rebuilding of pump chamber #1 including new access ladder, grating platform, secure doors, overhead door, chain hoist and beam. The existing air intake bird screen will be removed and replaced with galvanized steel and supports. Make concrete repairs to existing pump station curbs and cracks as required. Remove and replace existing sump pumps, controls and associated piping, including abandoned piping and hangers located in (3) different pump stations and air intake area.  Cleaning and inspect existing manhole and storm sewer line. Electrical work will include removal and replacement of conduit, boxes, light fixtures and wiring for the (3) pump stations and air intake area.
