Decarbonizing the Empire State Plaza

Governor Kathy Hochul announced $100 million for Phase One of the decarbonization of the Empire State Plaza in Albany as outlined in the Empire State Plaza Infrastructure Energy Master Plan. The Empire State Plaza Energy Infrastructure Master Plan outlines a phased approach to reduce the Plaza’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and modernize its aging infrastructure and utilities. The first two phases of the Plan will result in more than 50 percent reduction in carbon emissions.

EMPIRE STATE PLAZA PARKING UPDATE
P2 North Parking Level Entry/Exit Closure Beginning July 8
Starting July 8, 2024, the P2 North Level entrance will be closed through the end of the year for maintenance. P2 North general parking permit holders will be rerouted to enter the Plaza through the P2 South parking entrance. Permit holders can then access P-2 North parking by following the posted detour signs. Please anticipate traffic delays during busy commuting hours.
